Writing 2100 Reflection

Overall, I enjoyed being in this class and learned a lot about critically analyzing texts and improving my writing skills. This class has undoubtedly made me a better writer. Before taking Writing 2100, my writing, particularly in essays, lacked structure and clarity. However, through this course, I have gained a deeper understanding of how to organize my thoughts and present them more effectively.

One of the most significant improvements I experienced was in my critical thinking skills. This course helped me learn how to identify and incorporate multiple perspectives into my writing, making my arguments more well-rounded. I now approach texts with a more analytical mindset, which has enhanced my ability to engage with and critique various forms of writing.

I particularly enjoyed the interactive resources and assignments we engaged with throughout the semester. For example, exploring the “Library of Babel” was a fun exercise that challenged my perception of literature and the infinite possibilities within written texts. The collage assignment was an innovative way to blend visual and textual elements, allowing me to express my ideas creatively and think ‘outside the box’.

This course definitely challenged me intellectually, pushing me to think more critically about the materials we studied. The skills and knowledge I have gained in this class will be valuable throughout my college journey and beyond. I am confident that the lessons I have learned will continue to improve my writing in various contexts, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a transformative learning experience.

A huge thank you to my classmates and Professor Muhlbauer for an incredible semester! Have a great summer!!
