My Collage

Collages can tell a story, illustrate our interests, and use words to define our ambitions. Compared to essays and novels, collages don’t need numerous pages to explain what the person is trying to convey. I enjoyed making my collage because it allowed me to combine my interests and what I aspire to do. Traditional writing takes time to understand, while collages may take only a few minutes to grasp the concept. When looking at images in collages, we can make several different interpretations and connect the pictures to the phrases that have been included. Images can strike emotion in the person who is viewing them, while traditional writing, at times, is more challenging to do. In my collage, I included my desire to travel in the future and my love for art and reading. Furthermore, I added quotes that I often look at throughout my week. I realize now that the images and phrases that I chose contradict themselves. My quotes are very positive, similar to affirmations. At the same time, my pictures seem a little more chaotic, and even the placement is inconsistent, comparable to my mind, as I often aspire to be more positive; chaos fills the empty space. I am happy with the final product because it is a collection of everything I love, and its juxtapositions highlight mental conflicts.

A Journey of Discovery

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are”

Amid life’s hustle and bustle, losing sight of who we are is very easy. We become wrapped up in the demands of daily routines, the expectations of society, and the noise of our minds. But amidst this chaos lies a pathway to self-realization, a journey of introspection and discovery that leads us back to our authentic selves.

I created a collage encompassing my methods to strive for introspection, including Meditation, Yoga, Breathing, and Self-study of philosophies (notably Carl Jung). These practices serve as anchors amidst the turbulence of life, guiding me toward a deeper understanding of myself and my place in the universe.

The inclusion of the “Doctor Strange” scene GIF added a layer of complexity to my collage. In this scene, the protagonist is confronted with a profound question: “Who are you in this vast multiverse?” This question transcends the boundaries of space and time, challenging us to confront our identity in the grand scheme of existence. It reminded me of the universality of the human experience and the interconnectedness of all things and beings.

Collages offer a unique visual medium to convey ideas and emotions, engaging viewers on a sensory level through imagery, color, and symbolism. Unlike traditional writing, they provide a non-linear exploration of themes and invite individual interpretation and persepctive.

Regarding digital collage tools, I appreciated their accessibility and convenience, offering a wide range of images and resources. However, they may need more tactile experience with traditional methods and require proficiency in graphic design software.

Expanding upon this work could involve deepening the understanding of explored themes and incorporating personal experiences into the collage. Additionally, exploring multimedia formats like video montages or interactive digital experiences could enhance the project’s impact. Through further exploration and creative expression, the journey of self-realization continues to unfold, guiding me toward a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
